Omid 16B is a true artist but also a DJ/ producer of the highest caliber and owner/ founder of Sexonwax Recordings and the recently resurrected Alola Records. His artistic approach to everything he’s touched has so far seen a prolific 15 years and is getting from strength to strength. His artist album “Sounds From Another Room” on “Eye Q Recordings”, through to his mix compilations like “Balance 13” on Stomp Australia or “In House We Trust” on Yoshitoshi have lead to critical acclaim as his singles which have been signed on to major labels like BMG/ Deconstruction just to name a few. Sponsored by industry giants such as Pioneer, Ableton, Roland and Native Instruments Omid has been hailed as one of the most cutting edge artists coming out of the UK in the past decade. His remixes have ranged from artists such as The Cure to Gus Gus, to François Kevorkian to Deep Dish and Depeche Mode amongst many others.

An artist truly in ascendance, Omid 16B had a crazy 2011. Following the release of the double-A-side ‘Rain/ Passion of Zorro’ on John Digweed’s Bedrock stable, Omid has been touring furiously. From Carl Craig’s Planet E stage at Snowbombing, through to DJmag’s 20th anniversary show at Space Ibiza to the MTV festival in Croatia, a plauded London SW4 main stage, Bestival and the Space closing parties in Ibiza, Omid has not let up.

Currently Omid is finishing the last stages of his new artist album to be released in 2012. This will be documented by the BBC who are currently making a film about DJ’s with a different background based in London and Omid 16B will play a major part in allowing the world to get an insight to his everyday life as a DJ.

Omid is not a new face to Austin – he came here 16 months ago and completely rocked the pants off Halloween. We’re extremely lucky to have him back for a truly underground party on the fringe of SXSW 2012. Invite your friends and start spreading the word.

Will Konitzer – Nothing At All [Out Now]

One of my tracks “Nothing At All“, is included on the Houseology Vol.1 compilation from Crystallight Records. It’s a deep house number with a bouncy groove, some luscious pads and a dreamy vocal. Highly recommended for chilling out to at the end of this Indian summer. The compilation also features another seven great tracks from the label, so please go and check it out. The whole release is exclusive to Beatport.

RealMusic Events continues to advance the dance scene in Austin. Through the production of quality shows with quality artists, in particular their month-long string of events dubbed MAYhem, they are delivering top-notch artists from around the world to Austin’s top venues. Much of the talent has never been to Austin or the entire state of Texas ever before, so needless to say they are making waves in the 512. One of the next big events that they have coming up is on Sunday, May 29th, when RealMusic Events presents the world-renowned progressive house DJ Thomas Gold!

Thomas Gold is a regular at many of the world’s best venues, having circumnavigated the planet with rousing appearances throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East and North and South America. In three short years he has built an impressive (and award-winning) back catalogue. DJ Mag named him the Breakthrough DJ / Producer of 2010, and Beatport nominated him for ‘Best Progressive House artist’ in 2009. He also went won an award for ‘Best Progressive House Track’ for his remix of Delerium’s “Silence.” On top of his original solo releases, he has done remix work for some of the heaviest hitters in the global dance scene, working with names such as David Guetta, Fergie feat. LMFAO, David Tort and Paul van Dyk.

Joining in the fun at Light Bar this Sunday will be eye-catching, head-turning, jaw-dropping group of dancing vixens known as The GoGo Gadgettes. They have danced for many acclaimed artists and DJs such as The Black Eyed Peas, P. Diddy, Armin van Buuren, Benny Benassi and Rusko. Getting the party started will be local resident DJ/Producer Andrew Parsons, and the San Antonio-based DJ Shwann, who was a recent performer at Nocturnal Festival.

You can pick up discount tickets at thomasgoldatx.eventbrite.com

I’m playing 10pm-11.30pm.

Love you all
-Will
